Dawn has opened up about his high level of satisfaction with living alone.
On the January 7 broadcast of the MBC variety show ‘Radio Star,’ guests Kim Dong Hyun, Hwang Kwang Hee, Dawn, and Amotti made appearances.
During the episode, Dawn revealed his preference for a solitary lifestyle, even admitting he hopes to live alone forever, saying, “I love living by myself so much that I actually spend about two-thirds of the year completely alone.”
He added, “I feel like I absolutely have to be alone.”
When asked if he realized this comfort after moving out on his own, Dawn explained, “Since I have to do business and maintain a social life, I do invite friends or guests over to my house. It’s great to eat delicious food and catch up.”
In 2016, Dawn (born Kim Hyo Jong) debuted as a member of the group Pentagon but left the team in 2018 following the news of his relationship with singer HyunA.
Dawn and HyunA frequently showcased their affection through joint appearances at official events and variety shows, but eventually announced their breakup in December 2022 after six years of public dating.
While Dawn initially kept photos of HyunA on his social media after the split, he deleted them following the announcement of her marriage to singer-songwriter Yong Jun Hyung. In October 2024, HyunA and Yong Jun Hyung held their wedding ceremony.
