On March 13, T.O.P shared a post on his social media, accompanied by a photo, writing: “YOU ARE INVITED TO ANOTHER DIMENSION.”
T.O.P had previously released several teaser materials hinting at the concept of his solo album, drawing attention from fans. The newly released photo features T.O.P in black and white, staring intensely into the camera, while an additional close-up shot of his eyes amplifies the dramatic effect.
He is preparing new solo music for release in the first half of the year, marking 13 years since his last solo project. Back in November 2024, when a fan asked, “DOOM DADA 2.0 WHEN?” referring to a potential follow-up to his 2013 solo hit "DOOM DADA," T.O.P responded with a simple “2025.”
This upcoming release will be his first solo album since "DOOM DADA," released on November 15, 2013, and comes three years after officially leaving Big Bang in 2023. T.O.P had previously stepped away from the entertainment industry following a 2017 conviction for marijuana use, which resulted in a 10-month prison sentence with a two-year probation. While he participated in Big Bang’s 2022 digital single "Still Life" and its music video, he confirmed his departure in May 2023, stating: “I’ve already said I’m leaving Big Bang. I’m about to start a new chapter in my life.”
In a Netflix's 'Squid Game Season 2' interview, T.O.P reflected on his past mistakes, saying: “While being part of Big Bang, I made mistakes that hurt the team’s image. I have to live with that debt in my heart forever. Honestly, I have no face to return.”
Meanwhile, Big Bang celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. With members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung hinting at active group promotions, all eyes are on T.O.P to see how he will navigate his return to the music scene as a solo artist.
