Chef Im Seong Geun, who recently gained popularity on 'Culinary Class Wars 2', has publicly confessed to his past crimes. On January 18, he posted a handwritten apology on his YouTube channel, 'Imjjang TV'.
In a video accompanying the letter, Chef Im revealed the extent of his past mistakes. He confessed, "I have been caught drunk driving three times over the past 10 years."
He spoke candidly about his punishments, stating, "Wrong is wrong. I do not want to make excuses or avoid responsibility. I received criminal punishment, my license was revoked, and I eventually obtained it again."
He explained that his recent surge in popularity made him feel guilty about hiding his past. "Suddenly receiving such immense love became a burden," he admitted. "I felt it was deceptive and disrespectful to the fans who trust me to continue my activities while burying my past mistakes."
Chef Im also shared a glimpse into his personal struggles. "Living a busy and difficult life, I came to love alcohol too much. I ask for your generous forgiveness," he said, apologizing for causing concern to his subscribers.
In his handwritten letter, he wrote, "Drunk driving is a mistake that cannot be excused by any reason. I have spent the last few years self-reflecting." He concluded by promising to "control himself" and live as a chef who spreads a positive influence on society, rather than disappointment.
