SHINee’s Key has stepped down from his role as an MC for the ‘2025 MBC Entertainment Awards.’
On December 17, MBC told Celeb Media, “As Key, who was scheduled to appear as an MC for the ‘2025 MBC Entertainment Awards,’ expressed his intention to suspend activities, the production team respected his decision and has finalized plans to proceed with the ceremony under a two MC system led by Jun Hyun Moo and Jang Do Yeon.”
The ‘MBC Entertainment Awards’ is an annual celebration honoring entertainers who were active on MBC variety programs over the past year. Jun Hyun Moo, Key, and Jang Do Yeon, who all appear on MBC’s variety program ‘I Live Alone,’ were originally set to host the ceremony together.
However, on the same day, Key released a statement regarding the recent controversy surrounding A, known as ‘injection aunt,’ and allegations over her medical license. He stated, “Key is deeply reflecting on his own ignorance and, recognizing the seriousness of the matter, has decided to step down from his scheduled activities and programs he is currently appearing on.”
As a result, this year’s ‘MBC Entertainment Awards’ will be hosted by Jun Hyun Moo and Jang Do Yeon as a duo.
