Singer Kangnam is drawing attention for his striking transformation, unveiling his restored “peak-era” visuals in a new pictorial following his recent nose surgery and weight loss.
On December 2, a video titled “Yes, it’s really Kangnami! First reveal of black-haired Kangnam’s superstar pictorial / Post-schedule team dinner behind-the-scenes” was uploaded to Kangnami's YouTube channel.
In the video, Kangnam joked, “Ever since I got my nose done and lost weight, there have been so many comments saying I got handsome. Normally, magazines contact celebrities first for pictorials, but this time I actually pitched the idea myself,” laughing as he spoke.
He added, “Since I am an MC on 'Korea-Japan Top Ten Show,' a lot of older viewers recognize me on the street. But after the nose surgery, many of them do not recognize me anymore. I guess I have to work hard all over again,” he said playfully.
Kangnam visited the photoshoot location, which he scheduled himself, where he unveiled a completely new look with bold styling and dark hair.

The concept of the day was a wild yet innocent ‘bad boy’ style. The photographer explained, “Kangnam called me at dawn and suddenly said, ‘Hey, I got more handsome.’ Then he openly admitted to having a nose job. That is when I thought, okay, there is potential,” he recalled with a laugh.
Throughout the shoot, Kangnam pulled off a wide range of outfits and poses with confidence, completing the pictorial with a professional touch.

His black-haired look in particular earned applause from the entire crew. The staff commented, “He even has that decadent charm now,” and added, “It has been more than 10 years since we have seen Kangnam look this handsome and normal since his debut.”
In the comment section of the video, netizens reacted with messages such as “Kangnam has regained his peak visuals” and “He used to be called Kimura Takoyaki back in school.” The nickname “Kimura Takoyaki” came from how people said Kangnam resembled, in a playful way, the top Japanese heartthrob Kimura Takuya.
