Shotaro has donated 25 million KRW (approximately $17,000 USD) to UNICEF Korea in the name of BRIIZE to celebrate his birthday.
On the 25th, UNICEF Korea announced that RIIZE member Shotaro contributed 25 million KRW (approximately $17,000 USD) to support the healthy growth and well-being of children around the world. This donation follows the support campaign launched on World Children’s Day on November 20 and marks a meaningful act carried out under the name of his fan club BRIIZE in honor of his 25th birthday.
The donation will be used for UNICEF’s core programs in urgent need of support globally, including health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education, child protection, and emergency relief. Shotaro shared, “I wanted to give back to BRIIZE’s support, so I decided to donate on my birthday. I receive so much love, and I want to share love and happiness in many places as well. Even if it’s small, I hope it can help someone.”
Cho Mi Jin, Secretary-General of UNICEF Korea, expressed gratitude, saying, “We sincerely thank Shotaro for choosing to give back to children around the world on his birthday. His warm heart and positive influence will bring great hope to children facing hardship.”
Shotaro previously donated in 2023 to support children affected by the Türkiye earthquake. He also recently participated in the ‘UNICEF Team’ campaign commemorating the 10th anniversary of the partnership between UNICEF Korea and SM Entertainment, continuing his charitable efforts.
UNICEF Korea is the official Korean representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund, supporting global programs in child health, nutrition, education, protection, and emergency aid, while also working to advance children’s rights domestically.
