Netizens are now demanding a formal investigation after additional evidence pointed to suspected "embezzlement" involved in the annual 'Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event'.
Hosted by 'W Korea', the annual 'Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event', which first began in 2006, has donated a cumulative amount of 1.1 billion KRW (~ $774,000 USD) to assist those from low-income backgrounds with breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, according to promotional materials released by 'W Korea'.
However, according to 'Dispatch' on October 17 KST, 'W Korea' typically draws a much larger amount in donations each year from its partner luxury brands.

This year, luxury brands which participated in the 'Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity' included 'Chanel', 'Louis Vuitton', 'Gucci', 'Saint Laurent', 'Bottega Veneta', 'Thom Browne', 'Cartier', 'Valentino', 'Burberry', 'Celine', 'Prada', 'Fendi', and more. In addition to providing the fashion items that celebrities were asked to wear to the dinner, these luxury brands collectively donated nearly 1 billion KRW for this year's event in the name of breast cancer awareness.
Unfortunately, as observed by 'Dispatch', 'W Korea' has made it unclear where this 1 billion KRW has gone, and why the full amount was not donated to charities dealing with breast cancer.
In fact, all celebrities who appeared at this year's 'Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Charity Event' dinner and party at Four Seasons Kwanghwamun attended "without pay", conscious of the event itself being for charity. Most also paid for their own hair and makeup, meaning that 'W Korea' likely did not have to use the donation amount to simply invite top celebrities.

Furthermore, as 'W Korea' indicated in its numerous SNS posts, other high-end brands such as 'Dyson', the fine wine retailer 'Moët & Chandon', and perfume brand 'H' contributed goods and merchandise for the dinner and party, including the endless supply of champagne courtesy of 'Moët & Chandon'.
If 'W Korea' maintained a consistency with its annual donations, then of the proclaimed, cumulative 1.1 billion KRW, approximately 50 million KRW (~ $35,000 USD) would have been donated this year. For many observers, this meant that of the separate 1 billion KRW donated by luxury brand partners, approximately 950 million KRW has been either "pocketed" by 'W Korea', or the entire amount was used to pay for the elegant dinner and party.

K-netizens commented in anger and disbelief,
"The brands donated 1 billion KRW this year, but only 50 million went to breast cancer causes?? Where did the rest of the money go??"
"Disclose your budget sheets and your records of spending and donations."
"They must have spent it all partying it up like gods. Breast cancer was seriously nothing but an excuse."
"So you're telling me this magazine spent 950 million won on food, drinks, and entertainment for a fancy celebrity party, and then donated the leftover 50 million won to breast cancer???"
"I think this magazine fooled everyone. It ripped all the luxury brands off, it tricked all the celebrities into playing along, and it openly mocked breast cancer patients and families..."
"This seriously requires a thorough audit."
"This is a very serious issue. If they're holding these annual events in the name of breast cancer and charity but nothing is actually being done for the cause and the magazine itself if pocketing the donation money, then the police need to get involved."
"If they actually didn't even try to fundraise for breast cancer, it would have just ended as an extremely incompetent and laughable show. But if they embezzled donation money, that's a whole different kind of problem."
"The police need to investigate this immediately."
"They so desperately wanted to play 'rich Western millionaires' but they didn't have money so they actually sold breast cancer WTH."
