Comedian Lee Jin Ho has been indicted for drunk driving.
On October 15th KST, the Yangpyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that Lee Jin Ho, charged with violating the Road Traffic Act (DUI), has been sent to the Yeoju Branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office.
According to police, Lee is accused of driving approximately 100 kilometers from Incheon to his residence in Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong County, in the early hours of September 24th, after drinking alcohol.
At the time of his arrest, his blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.11%, a level subject to license revocation. However, Lee requested a blood test, and the National Forensic Service (NFS) later reported that his actual blood alcohol concentration was 0.12%—even higher than the initial roadside test.
During questioning, Lee admitted to the offense but reportedly declined to provide details regarding his motive or circumstances.
Last year, Lee Jin Ho publicly admitted on social media that he had engaged in illegal gambling and had borrowed money from acquaintances during that time. While under investigation for gambling, he became the subject of a separate probe over the drunk driving charge.
The controversy deepened recently when his girlfriend, who had allegedly reported his intoxicated driving to police, was found dead in her apartment in Bupyeong District, Incheon, after reportedly suffering emotional distress.
Born in 1986, Lee Jin Ho debuted in 2005 through the SBS special comedian recruitment program and gained recognition through appearances on various comedy and entertainment programs, including 'Comedy Big League'.
