BOYNEXTDOOR has returned as movie protagonists.
On September 30 at 10 PM KST, the group shared the ‘Loading’ version concept photos and film for their 5th mini album ‘The Action’ through their official social media channels.
Each member transformed into the lead character of a different film, showcasing unique charms. Sungho reclined in a bathtub, tossing a tennis ball with a pensive expression in a story titled “The Fifth Set”—a nod to the decisive final set of a tennis match. Taesan stepped into a 1990s youth movie, complete with retro music and dreamy vibes. Jaehyun became an action star, sprinting in tense scenes beneath the bold title “SUNBURN ESCAPE.”
Riwoo took on the role of a superpowered character awakening his ability to generate electricity while news reports announce a massive blackout, evoking the start of a superhero film. Woonhak embodied a quiet high school student, staring out the classroom window with a hollow gaze that conveyed loneliness. Finally, Leehan appeared in a stark white room, where the screeching of nails on metal and a creaking chair created the suspense of a thriller.
Ahead of their comeback, BOYNEXTDOOR has been presenting cinematic concepts under the theme of filmmaking, with the members framed as part of a production crew called TEAM THE ACTION. Both the concept photos and videos were staged like movie stills, adding to the fun.
Set to drop on October 20 at 6 PM, ‘The Action’ encapsulates the group’s determination to take on new challenges in pursuit of becoming “better versions” of themselves. With their steady rise since debut, anticipation is building for BOYNEXTDOOR’s return to the music scene.
