The comedy-action film 'Boss' (directed by Ra Hee Chan) has officially surpassed 1 million viewers.
'Boss' is a comic action movie that tells the story of gang members caught in a desperate battle ahead of the selection of their next boss, each trying to give up the position in pursuit of their own dreams.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated box office data, 'Boss' exceeded 1 million admissions on October 7, its fifth day in theaters. This marks the fastest record for a Korean film released in October since the pandemic.
With a seat occupancy rate of 40.4% the film currently ranks No.1 at the box office. As the only comedy released during the Chuseok holidays, it attracted 240,000 viewers on its opening day. The movie has received praise for its unique premise about gang members who don't want to become the next boss.
As of 10:16 AM on October 7, 'Boss' also holds the top spot in real-time ticket reservations, with a 22.1% reservation rate and 117,155 advance tickets sold. 'Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc' ranked second place, followed by Park Chan Wook's 'No Other Choice' in third place.
