Former Wonder Girls member Yubin has revealed her family’s heartbreaking situation and asked for help.
On September 1, Yubin shared, “Something tragic has happened to my very precious and beloved family. My eldest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and has been fighting through painful treatments ever since. Unfortunately, in 2024 the cancer metastasized to her brain, and she continues to face a painful battle every day.”
She continued, “Thankfully, we managed to find an effective treatment, but due to financial realities it has been extremely difficult to receive proper care. Out of a desperate wish to protect my sister, I am asking for your help. This is not just about my family, but also a crucial issue tied to whether breast cancer patients can access better treatment in the future.”
Yubin then requested public support for a national petition titled “Request for health insurance coverage and expedited approval for Tukysa (tucatinib), a treatment for brain metastases in breast cancer.” She added, “I would be truly grateful if you could lend your strength so that many patients can hold onto hope.”

Meanwhile, Yubin debuted as a member of Wonder Girls in 2007 and left behind numerous hit songs including "Tell Me," "Why So Lonely," "So Hot," and "Nobody."
