Dayoung of Cosmic Girls is officially launching her solo career, nearly nine years after her group debut.
According to her agency Starship Entertainment, Dayoung will release her first digital single ‘gonna love me, right?’ on September 9th at 6 PM KST via major music streaming platforms.
This release marks a significant milestone for Dayoung, who participated in planning, writing, and composing the single. The project conveys messages of confidence and love, with Dayoung boldly asking, “You’re going to love me, right?”—and answering herself with equal certainty, “You will!”
The digital single includes a total of three tracks: the title track "body", along with "number one rockstar" and "marry me".
The lead track ‘body’ features a punchy beat and addictive hook, layered with Dayoung’s refreshing vocals. She describes the song as a statement that “emotions and attitude reach before words do,” showcasing how to speak from the stage without saying a word.
‘marry me’ is a bright, upbeat track that fully captures Dayoung’s playful energy and unique style—she took part in both the lyrics and composition.
With nearly a decade of experience as a member of WJSN, Dayoung is now ready to express her personal musical identity, bringing confidence and authenticity to her solo debut.
