A new documentary on former K-pop idol Park Yoochun, who was effectively expelled from the Korean entertainment industry after holding a false press conference, is set to air in Japan.
Japanese independent broadcaster Tokyo MX announced on September 5th that it will air a special documentary titled ‘An Endless Story’ on September 20th at 7:30 PM JST. The program will focus on Park Yoochun’s recent live concert and the difficult road he has taken since his fall from grace.
“Though the concert ended in great success and felt like a dream, the path leading to that stage was far from smooth,”the network commented. “Still, Park Yoochun did not give up. Holding tightly to his promises to fans, he overcame challenges one by one.”
They continued, “Even when he was hurt, his passion for music and sincere affection for his fans were clearly visible, making this performance all the more special.”
The broadcaster added, “This documentary reveals the untold stories behind the shining performances, with Park’s heartfelt wish to ‘run forward together with fans’ striking a deep emotional chord.”
Although he has been virtually blacklisted in the Korean entertainment scene, Park Yoochun has continued to pursue fan activities in Japan, including multiple fan meetings in recent years.
With his reputation still marred in Korea, many are curious about what kind of reflections or sentiments Park Yoochun might express in the upcoming program.
Recently, Park Yoochun posted on Instagram, “Nagoya, I promise to come back again. Thank you so much,” along with photos from his trip to Japan. He added, “I’ll keep working hard for my family and for all of you. Thank you, my dear Lilibet (fandom name).”
Fans who attended his latest concert shared videos online, with one commenting, “I simply can’t get over his dancing.”
