Hoshi of SEVENTEEN officially enlisted in the military on September 16, entering a recruit training center where he will undergo basic training before continuing his service as an active-duty soldier. He is the fourth member of the group to enlist, following Jeonghan, Wonwoo, and Woozi.
The night before enlistment, Hoshi held a live broadcast on Weverse to bid farewell to fans. “As you know, I’ll be enlisting tomorrow. I’ll serve well and return healthily,” he said, adding reassurance about Woozi, who entered the Nonsan Training Center on the same day. “Don’t worry about us. We’ll do well.”
Hoshi also revealed that due to the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday overlapping with his schedule, his basic training will last seven weeks instead of the usual five. Showing his newly shaved head, he saluted fans and promised, “I’ll come back after doing my best. Please stay healthy.”

In addition, Hoshi shared that his new track “TAKE A SHOT” would be released on the day of his enlistment. The song, entirely rap-based, was described as a self-reflective piece that he worked on with younger members.
Close friends including Lee Soo Hyuk and Lee Dong Hwi sent words of encouragement via social media, which Hoshi gratefully shared. At SEVENTEEN’s recent concert, fellow members Jeonghan, Woozi, and Wonwoo appeared in the audience to support him before his departure.
Hoshi is expected to complete his service and be discharged on March 15, 2027.
