Park Min Young sparks concern again over extremely thin figure at drama press event.
Actress Park Min Young has once again drawn concern from fans due to her noticeably thin frame. On September 1 KST, she attended the press conference for TV Chosun’s new weekend drama 'The Confidence Man KR' held at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Wearing a nude-toned, form-fitting dress, Park appeared visibly slim—rekindling concerns that initially surfaced last year during the promotions for tvN’s drama 'Marry My Husband.'
At that time, Park Min Young was cast as Kang Ji Won, a woman reliving her life with a terminal illness. To convincingly portray the character’s declining health, Park revealed she had intentionally lost weight down to 37 kg (about 81 pounds).
She later shared, “There were parts of the role I couldn’t approach lightly, so I tried to gather as much information as possible and considered how best to portray it visually. I don’t recommend this to anyone, but I survived on very small meals and sports drinks during filming,” she confessed.
Park continued, “It was actually harder to gain weight again because my stomach shrank so much. Still, I was grateful to pour everything into this role—at my age, I wondered if I’d get another chance to be this passionate about a character, so I gave it everything I had.”
Her latest appearance has reignited conversations around body image and health in the entertainment industry, with fans expressing both admiration for her dedication and concern over the potential toll on her well-being.
