IVE member Rei recently warmed fans’ hearts by expressing her affection for Red Velvet’s Joy on Instagram. On August 31 KST, Rei shared a series of adorable photos with Joy, captioned with the sweet message, “I’m happy to be your dongsaeng (younger sister).”
The two idols, known to be close, first revealed their friendship during an episode of MBC’s 'I Live Alone' back in April. This time, they reunited in a music show green room, where Joy is currently promoting her latest track “Love Splash!”
The photos show the pair linking arms, hugging, and radiating sisterly affection, despite their eight-year age gap. Rei, nicknamed “Kongsuni” for her cute and lovable visuals, looked overjoyed as she posed with Joy, evoking the vibe of real-life sisters.
Fans couldn’t get enough of their heartwarming interaction, flooding the comments with praise like “Princesses with 8-foot-long arms,” “Cutest duo ever,” “Can I join too?” and “This friendship is healing and wholesome.”
Even fellow Red Velvet member Seulgi chimed in, commenting, “You two really look like sisters.”
Rei is currently promoting with IVE, who released their 4th mini album 'IVE SECRET' on August 25. She also recently appeared as a special MC on KBS2’s 'Music Bank' on August 29, further showcasing her versatility and charm.
