Cha Eun Woo, currently serving in the military, has shared a handwritten message and video greeting in celebration of Armed Forces Day (October 1st) KST.
Cha stars as Yeon Min in the upcoming comedy film ‘First Ride’, which opens on September 29. The movie follows five longtime friends of 24 years—Tae Jung (Kang Ha Neul), Do Jin (Kim Young Kwang), Yeon Min (Cha Eun Woo), Geum Bok (Kang Young Seok), and Ok Sim (Han Sunhwa)—as they embark on their first trip abroad, leading to a whirlwind of laughter.
To commemorate Armed Forces Day, ‘First Ride’ unveiled Cha Eun Woo’s special video message and handwritten letter, both prepared before his enlistment.
In the video, Cha expressed gratitude to his fellow cast members Kang Ha Neul, Kim Young Kwang, Kang Young Seok, and director Nam Dae Joong, recalling fond memories from filming. He also shared a message to audiences: “I hope you can relive the memories, nostalgia, and warmth of your school days. Please enjoy those nostalgic moments vividly and on the big screen.”
In his handwritten note, Cha added: “‘First Ride’ is a project we worked on with passion and joy. Even though I can’t be there in person, I’ll be cheering for it from here.”
Cha Eun Woo enlisted in July. During the completion ceremony at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province on July 2, he stood on stage as the representative of his unit, leading the salute—a moment that quickly drew attention online.
Cha is scheduled to be discharged on January 27, 2027.
