Actor Hyun Bin has found himself in lighthearted “heart refusal” controversy.
On September 30 KST, lifestyle media Eyesmag posted a short video with the caption: “A man who won’t make hand hearts unless it’s with Son Ye Jin unnie… Hyun Bin, the perfect wall”
The clip showed Hyun Bin attending the VIP premiere of director Ra Hee Chan’s film ‘Boss’ at a Seoul cinema. When a fan approached the photo wall and offered half of a finger heart, Hyun Bin didn’t complete the gesture. Instead, he clasped the fan’s hand and returned the greeting with a handshake.
Netizens reacted with comments such as: “Ri Jeong Hyuk and Yoon Se Ri forever,” “Hyun Bin folds hearts away,” “He only makes hearts for Son Ye Jin,” “Hearts reserved for his wife only,” “This kind of wall is welcome,” and “The model married man—no fan service hearts.” Many interpreted the moment as a sign of Hyun Bin’s unwavering love for his wife Son Ye Jin.
As the video gained buzz, Son Ye Jin herself joined the fun, dropping emojis of a smiling face in sunglasses and a thumbs-up.

Others suggested Hyun Bin might not have realized the fan was making a half-heart. Comments included: “He probably thought they just wanted a handshake,” “Looked like castanets,” “He didn’t recognize it at all,” and “Maybe he thought it was a new handshake style.”
Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, both born in 1982, married in 2022 and welcomed a son later that year.
