MONSTA X surprised fans with their witty banter and unexpected synergy with ChatGPT in a recent episode of their original YouTube reality series 'MonMukGo'.
On May 30, 2025, KST, MONSTA X released a new episode of 'MonMukGo' on their official YouTube channel, under the theme “Creating a Fairy Tale with ChatGPT.” The members explored various ways to interact with the AI chatbot, using it not only for entertainment but also for creativity.
Shownu, Kihyun, and Jooheon shared that they already use ChatGPT in their daily lives—for writing songs and even sketching ideas. Curious about how well ChatGPT knew them, the members began testing the AI’s knowledge. However, it faltered early on, mistakenly stating that Shownu’s real name was “Lee Jeongwon,” drawing laughs and mock disappointment from the group.
When Minhyuk noticed the bot’s overly formal tone, he typed, “We’re filming a variety show—try to be more fun.” ChatGPT responded with playful language and emojis, prompting the members to exclaim, "It changed its attitude once it heard we're on a show. It knows how to do variety shows!"
Kihyun jokingly challenged the AI when it gave him an odd nickname, typing, “You don’t know me, do you? Go search again.” Meanwhile, I.M critiqued ChatGPT’s tone with dry humor, warning, “If you keep this up, I’ll switch to another one,” in a mock-serious tone that sparked laughter.
Later, the group teamed up with ChatGPT to write a fairy tale. Minhyuk opened with, “Once upon a time, there was a princess who lived in a magnificent castle,” and ChatGPT expanded the story with its own twist, introducing a character called the “Silver Fox.” The detailed and imaginative plot impressed the members.
Not missing a chance to cause mischief, the members twisted the story’s direction—turning the princess into a villain and attempting to confuse the AI. But ChatGPT smoothly adapted and kept the story going, earning the members’ respect as they wrapped up with a warm, finished narrative.

In the final scenes, the members recorded voiceovers for their completed story, adding narration and bringing the fairy tale to life. The result was a uniquely entertaining and creative episode, once again proving MONSTA X's strength in content creation.
'MonMukGo' airs every week at 8:30 p.m. KST on MONSTA X’s official YouTube channel. In celebration of their 10th debut anniversary, the group is also hosting a free pop-up exhibition titled 'MONOLOGUE', open through June 11, 2025, KST.
