Another touching story about Lee Hyori has surfaced—this time, it involves a meaningful connection with a YouTuber suffering from a rare illness. What began as a chance encounter on an airplane has blossomed into a lasting relationship rooted in shared moments and genuine care.
On June 15, YouTuber dailyYeoni uploaded a vlog titled “A Peaceful Day Hanging Out with Hyori Unnie” on her channel. The video shows the two enjoying performances together and strolling around the Seoul Jazz Festival 2025, held in May.
Their connection began in 2023 on a flight to Jeju Island, where Lee Hyori happened to sit next to dailyYeoni, who lives with a rare skin condition called epidermolysis bullosa. Lee Hyori listened sincerely to her story, and a video of that encounter later went viral on YouTube, touching many viewers’ hearts.
The bond didn’t end there. Months later, dailyYeoni—who was hospitalized at the time—received a message from Lee Hyori’s manager saying, “Hyori unnie was wondering how you’re doing.” When dailyYeoni replied that she’d be discharged soon, Lee Hyori offered to visit her, despite her busy schedule. True to her word, she visited the hospital and spent an hour chatting with her, bringing warmth and comfort during a difficult time.
The two reunited recently when Lee Hyori reached out first, inviting dailyYeoni to join her at the Seoul Jazz Festival 2025. “It was my first time at a festival and my first concert in a while—it was such a wonderful experience,” said dailyYeoni, adding, “I’m so grateful to Hyori unnie for creating such an unforgettable memory.”
Lee Hyori is well known for her charitable deeds. Recently, she donated around 18.5 tons of pet food to 17 animal shelters. Her consistent support for single mothers, young adults preparing for independence, and animal welfare organizations has earned her the reputation of being a true “icon of kindness.”
