Singer and actress Nana reflected on the frightening moment when she encountered a robber at her home last year.
On March 9 KST, Nana appeared as a guest on the YouTube web variety show “Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup” alongside actors Ju Ji Hoon and Ha Ji Won, who are starring with her in the upcoming ENA drama Climax.
During the show, Nana spoke about her mother, describing her as “someone more precious than my own life.”
She then recalled the incident, saying she felt disoriented at the time but was fortunate the situation did not end worse.
“It felt like the moment lasted a very long time,” she said.
Nana added that after the situation was resolved, she realized that in emergencies it is important to act instinctively.
“If you hesitate and think too much, you might end up in an even more dangerous situation,” she explained.
She also admitted that she wondered whether she would have had the same courage if the attacker had not been holding a weapon.
The experience ultimately strengthened her bond with her mother.
“After going through that, we felt even more strongly that we are the only ones we have in this world,” she said.
Previously, a man in his 30s broke into Nana’s home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, in November last year while armed with a weapon. He allegedly assaulted the singer and her mother and demanded money, and was later arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and injury.
During the attack, Nana’s mother lost consciousness after being strangled, while Nana sustained minor injuries.
The suspect also suffered a jaw laceration and later filed a counter complaint against Nana for attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Police ultimately dismissed the accusations against Nana due to lack of evidence. She has since filed a complaint against the suspect for false accusation.
