The mayor of Gyeongju has come under fire for calling g.o.d “past their prime,” and member Kim Tae Woo’s latest social media post is now drawing attention.
On June 10th KST, Kim Tae Woo posted a festival poster on his personal social media account, writing, “Why did I get choked up looking at this poster? Suddenly, I felt what you guys must have felt yesterday. We’re really okay, so take care of your hearts. Got it? Don’t let it hurt you, okay?”
The poster included heartfelt messages such as “The name we loved, g.o.d! They are still top-tier artists” and “It’s an honor to have them as headliners,” which captured the spotlight online.
The controversy began on June 9th during a recording of KBS2’s Immortal Songs in Bodeok-dong, Gyeongju, where the mayor reportedly said, “They were singers from our generation, but aren’t they past their prime now?” His comment sparked backlash from fans and eventually led to a public apology.
Kim Tae Woo also added, “We’ll show on stage why we’re called living legends. Gather up, everyone. This time, it’s going to be legendary.”
