Fan communication app Bubble to increase prices

DearU Bubble, the popular fan communication app that allows users to receive messages from their favorite celebrities, has announced a price hike set to take effect in July. The app operates on a subscription model, where fans pay a monthly fee to access individual chat channels for each celebrity.

Price Increase

Previously, the cost of a single subscription was 4,500 KRW (or 3.99 USD). However, starting next month, the new monthly fee will be raised to 5,000 KRW (or 4.49 USD).

Luckily, Bubble has also introduced its Bubble webstore, where fans can purchase the communication ticket at its original price before the increase.

Fans reaction

The announcement has sparked backlash among K-pop fans, who gathered in a popular online community to express their frustration. 

They commented:

"This is too much. Do I need to purchase a KakaoTalk gift pass before?"

"I wonder if you can purchase a KakaoTalk pass and use it later."

"Just don't subscribe."

"They should do a discount instead."

"So crazy."

"I'm subscribed to all the members. That's going to be a 6,900 KRW increase."

"They're too much."

"So expensive."

"It's so crazy how they are selling conversations now."

"Well, I guess it's time to decrease subscription numbers."

"I'm going to cancel some starting next month."

"I guess we have to start using their web store."

"I don't even look at Bubble anymore."
