Go Youn-jung, the rising K-drama star, is captivating audiences with her compelling performance as Oh Yi-young in the ongoing medical drama ‘Resident Playbook.’ This spin-off of the acclaimed ‘Hospital Playlist’ series follows the trials and triumphs of first-year obstetrics and gynecology residents at Yulje Medical Center. Go's portrayal of the earnest and resilient Oh Yi-young, who navigates the chaotic world of medical residency with determination and empathy, is gaining widespread acclaim.
Before ‘Resident Playbook,’ Go Youn-jung had already made waves in the Korean entertainment industry through standout roles in hit series like ‘Alchemy of Souls,’ ‘Sweet Home,’ and ‘Moving.’ But her talents extend far beyond acting.
Long before she graced television screens, Go Youn-jung was immersed in the world of visual arts. Her foundation in art began at Seoul Arts High School, where she majored in Western painting, and later enrolled at Seoul Women’s University’s department of Contemporary Art in 2015. Her talent resurfaced in the public eye during her April 30 guest appearance on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ where she drew quick sketches of the hosts on the spot, catching the hosts off guard.
Go’s Instagram account offers a window into her artistic world, where she shares detailed portrait drawings that look quite realistic, like photographs. One standout is her portrait of actor Timothée Chalamet, which stunned fans with its visually stunning quality. That same portrait was also shown during her ‘You Quiz on the Block’ appearance, once again sparking admiration for her talent.
According to reports, this famous Naksu portrait from ‘Alchemy of Souls’ was also self-drawn by Go Youn-jung. Her ability to bring the character to life on screen and on canvas illustrates her remarkable talent in both acting and art.

In another recent display of her artistic talents, Go Youn-jung gifted the ‘Resident Playbook’ staff with sweet snacks and beverages, along with personally illustrated stickers featuring the faces of more than 80 staff members that she had drawn herself.
Go Youn-jung's multifaceted talents—spanning visual arts and acting—underscore her versatility and dedication to her craft. As she continues to evolve as an artist, audiences can look forward to witnessing the depth and breadth of her creative expression in future projects.
