Netflix has unveiled the teaser poster, trailer, and stills for 'Squid Game' season 3, heightening anticipation for the final round of its deadly competition. Season 3 follows Gi-hun, who reenters the game with a personal mission and loses his closest friend in the process, 'The Front Man', who infiltrates the game under a hidden identity, and the remaining survivors as they face their ultimate fate.
The teaser poster draws attention with Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung Jae) standing among pink-ribboned coffins, staring ahead with a determined expression. His resolute gaze captures the rage and loss he feels after a failed rebellion cost him his closest ally Jeong-bae (Lee Seo Hwan) and fellow contestants. The tagline “The final game for 45.6 billion won” and the line of coffins amplify curiosity about the fate of the survivors and who will emerge victorious.
The teaser trailer begins with the familiar sight of Pink Guards carrying a coffin into a dorm room, set to upbeat music. As viewers wonder who the coffin belongs to, Gi-hun opens his eyes, marking the start of the new chapter. Participants are seen randomly selecting colored balls and encountering each other in a maze-like space, hinting at the season’s new games. A scene showing a grand banquet for the VIPs, absent in season 2, suggests that the game is nearing its end.
As the game grows increasingly intense, contestants confront extreme emotions. The teaser also shows Jun-ho (Wi Ha Joon) continuing his pursuit of the game’s location, and No-eul (Park Gyu Young), a Pink Guard surveying the grounds alone for unknown reasons. These additions build excitement for season 3’s dynamic narrative. The trailer’s closing sound of a baby crying raises questions about Jun-hee’s (Jo Yu Ri) fate, as she is pregnant.
The still cuts further hint at the characters’ shifting dynamics after the rebellion. One shows Gi-hun sobbing in Pink Guards’ grasp, conveying his anguish. In contrast, The Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), formerly contestant 001 Young-il, now overseeing the game, exudes confidence, teasing a possible clash with Gi-hun.
The remaining survivors—Myeong-gi (Im Si Wan), Dae-ho (Kang Ha Neul), Hyun-joo (Park Sung Hoon), Yong-sik (Yang Dong Geun), Geum-ja (Kang Ae Shim), Jun-hee, Seon-nyeo (Chae Gook Hee), Min-soo (Lee Da Wit), and Nam-gyu (Noh Jae Won)—each bear faces marked by fear and fatigue. It remains to be seen who will endure until the end.
A still of Jun-ho catching his breath with an oxygen tank by the coast sparks curiosity over whether he has discovered the island where the game is held. Meanwhile, No-eul is seen unmasked and in confrontation, implying she may have violated Pink Guard protocol.
A final shot of contestants gathered in a mysterious room with a keyhole-shaped and knife-shaped door hints at a brand-new game and leaves global audiences brimming with anticipation.
Squid Game season 3 will premiere worldwide on Netflix on June 27.
