Chenle of NCT is set to release a special Chinese album in collaboration with Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), according to an announcement on May 4 (KST) by his agency, SM Entertainment.
The album, titled Lucid, will drop on May 5 at 12:22 p.m. KST across major Chinese music platforms, including QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music, and Bodiem Music, and will also be available as a physical album in China.
Lucid features three Chinese-language tracks, with the title track of the same name delivering a message of overcoming loneliness and reaching a brilliant moment. The song combines soaring strings with Chenle’s emotional high notes, creating a deeply moving experience.
Another track, Tear Bridge, is a remake of the original soundtrack from the 2003 drama Someday or One Day. The song’s blend of strings, piano, and a wistful guitar melody heightens its emotional depth. As the first remake in 22 years, Chenle’s delicate interpretation and restrained delivery add fresh nuance and lingering resonance.
The third track, Cosmic Joke (featuring Zhu Bichang), reflects on the realization of having to let go of a dream. It captures an internal dialogue shaped by the clash between idealism and the harshness of reality. Notably, Chenle and Zhu Bichang reconnect on this track after first crossing paths years ago on a Chinese television program.
In addition, the music video for Lucid will premiere on May 5 at 12:22 p.m. KST via NCT and NCT Dream’s official YouTube channels.
