It has been a longstanding issue in the K-pop industry where female idols are often expected to uphold an almost unattainable standard of beauty, one that includes maintaining a slim figure throughout their active years.
Recently, I-DLE's Shuhua has become the subject of online discussion among Korean netizens, who are saying the singer has become noticeably thinner in her latest public appearances.
Korean netizens are voicing concerns that Shuhua, who had maintained an already thin figure, has lost weight further to become extremely skinny. Many are saying Shuhua has now joined the list of female idols who are excessively skinny.

Some online users joined the online community where the discussion was posted to speculate on how Shuhua lost weight. They commented:
"She definitely used Wegovy."
"Her beauty stands out more with less makeup."
"When someone diets and loses weight, people go crazy, accusing them of lying and saying they took Wegovy. If someone’s pretty, they say it’s plastic surgery. If they have a big chest, they say it’s implants. If they have wide hips, they say it's padding. If they have a nice personality, they say it's fake... Misogyny? You guys are the best at it."
"But honestly, I think that level of slimness is what looks good. Being completely skin and bones isn’t appealing, but she’s not that extreme, just slim."
"Wow, but seriously, Shuhua is so pretty. With her pale skin and sharp facial features, losing more weight actually brings out her visuals more... it kind of gives the same vibe as her debut days. She's really beautiful."
"She was already so pretty before... Why does she keep trying to lose more weight? It’s heartbreaking."
"Shuhua is one of those rare cases where she looks better with a bit of weight on her… Why is that?"
"I think she looks prettier with a little bit of volume on her."
"She looks better with a bit more weight."
