Singer IU has finally received her diamond play button from YouTube, celebrating a major milestone of reaching over 10 million subscribers on her channel I jigeum.
On May 14, she shared a new video titled “The Diamond Button Has Finally Arrived #IU #I jigeum#10Million”, where she excitedly unboxes the award. Before opening it, IU couldn’t hide her excitement and wondered aloud, “How pretty will it be?” As soon as she saw it, she gasped, letting out a big “Wow” while admiring the sparkling plaque. On the back, the button was engraved with the name of her channel, I jigeum.
IU’s channel surpassed 10 million subscribers back on April 7. At the time, she shared her gratitude with fans, saying she had officially become a YouTuber with a diamond button and promised to keep creating fun content.
While holding the award, she smiled and said, “It’s so sparkly. This is something we made together.” She also joked, “They don’t take it back if the subscriber count drops, right?” before adding, “I’ll make sure we keep going up so that doesn’t happen.”
Fans flooded the comments with congratulations, celebrating not just the achievement but IU’s genuine and down-to-earth reaction.
