The Chinese mainland concert of EPEX has been officially postponed.
EPEX had announced that the '2025 EPEX CONCERT Youth Deficiency', originally scheduled for May 31 at MAAQUU x CH8 LIVEHOUSE in Fuzhou, would be postponed due to local circumstances.
According to an industry insider, after EPEX received approval for the concert, a surge of scams involving Korean artists' performances emerged in both China and South Korea. This reportedly led Chinese authorities to request a postponement.
Some reports noted that certain companies in China falsely claimed to have secured approval for large-scale concerts by impersonating senior executives from CCTV, China’s state-run broadcaster.
EPEX’s concert had drawn attention as the first commercial K-pop performance approved in mainland China in nine years, since the deployment of THAAD in South Korea in 2016. The news had raised expectations that the so-called “K-pop ban” might be easing.
The agency stated that they are coordinating with Chinese authorities and will release an update with the rescheduled date and venue as soon as possible.
