
TXT’s Yeonjun and Soobin made a surprise cameo in episode 9 of tvN’s weekend drama 'Resident Playbook', which was released on May 10. After contributing to the show’s OST, the two members appeared as part of the fictional idol group HI-BOYZ, delivering a playful and memorable moment for viewers.
A spin-off of the hit series 'Hospital Playlist', 'Resident Playbook' follows the lives, struggles, and friendships of medical residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center. In episode 9, Kang You Seok’s character Um Jae Il, a first-year OB-GYN resident and former member of the now-disbanded idol group HI-BOYZ, is seen singing the group’s song 'When the Day Comes' at a karaoke room.
As he performs, a background video plays featuring Yeonjun and Soobin dancing alongside him, portraying his former groupmates. Though only the two members appeared on screen, the full song was recorded by all five members of TXT and will be released as part of the 'Resident Playbook' OST on May 11 at 6 p.m. KST.
At the end of the episode, a teaser for HI-BOYZ’s performance video was also unveiled, sparking buzz online with its polished visuals and dynamic choreography. The teaser hinted at a high-production performance “worthy of a real debut.”
