
'Culinary Class Wars' chef Edward Lee has been appointed as an ambassador of Seoul City.
On the morning of May 7, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held an appointment ceremony at City Hall, naming Edward Lee as a promotional ambassador as part of its strategic efforts to promote Seoul’s unique flavors and culture globally and attract international tourists.
Edward Lee rose to fame as the runner-up on the popular Netflix reality show 'Culinary Class Wars,' and his culinary philosophy and authenticity have already moved many audiences.
Seoul plans to leverage Edward Lee’s global recognition to showcase the city’s food culture on the international stage and enhance its appeal as a tourist destination.
In addition to his culinary accomplishments, Edward Lee has consistently advocated for the rights of women and culinary professionals from the Black community and has promoted greater diversity in the culinary world. According to the city, this aligns well with Seoul’s values of inclusivity and diversity.
Through its collaboration with Edward Lee, the city will actively promote Seoul’s diverse culinary tourism resources, aiming to boost the city’s brand value and increase its global competitiveness.
Upon his appointment, Edward Lee expressed his excitement, stating, “Seoul is a city with a rich and diverse food culture. I will do my best to introduce the taste of Seoul to the world and share its unique charm with a wider audience.”
