Cha Joo Young considering starring role in historical drama 'Wongyeong'

On May 9 KST, an official from Ghost Studio has confirmed that, "Cha Joo Young received an offer for 'Wongyeong' and is discussing it positively."

'Wongyeong' is the story of King Taejong and Queen Wongyeong, who took power during the founding of a new dynasty.

Cha Joo Young was offered the role of Queen Wongyoung. Queen Wongyoung will be portrayed as a person with great desire for power. She eventually becomes queen, but also has a feud with King Taejong.

If Cha Joo Young confirms her appearance, 'Wongyoung' will be her first historical drama. 

Casting for the drama is currently underway. The drama will likely air sometime next year. 

Meanwhile, Cha Joo Young is currently appearing in the KBS-2TV weekend drama 'The Real Has Come!'.
