Happy Face Entertainment asks if YG will also cancel the debut of 'YG Treasure Box' in second court trial

misc.
On November 28, the second court trial for the 'MIXNINE' case took place at Seoul Central District Court.

The legal representative of Happy Face Entertainment mentioned YG Entertainment's new survival program, 'YG Treasure Box,' to refute YG's claims stating providing a debut is not their must-fill duty.

Happy Face's side stated, "We want to ask if they will also cancel the debut if the new, similar audition program 'YG Treasure Box' doesn't do well."

YG's side replied, "That's not the point and based on the contract (for 'MIXNINE'), we believe it's a decision that could've been made in this case." YG's legal representative added, "Also, it [YG Treasure Box] has no relevance to this case."

Back in June, Happy Face Entertainment, the label to Woo Jin Youngsued YG Entertainment for canceling the debut of the winning teams.

The next court trial is scheduled for January 16.

It's pretty obvious YG is going to win this case just because of his resources and position in the music industry. But Happy Face has some balls to do this and I can only hope it ends well for them. YG screwed with these trainees' time, work and dreams, and also with the viewers who spent their money to vote for the debuting team. He should pay for it.

This is an argument I would have liked to have heard first hand. I want to know their reply, like - what was the basis for the question. Hope it was more than a dig and it supported their claim.

It wasn't asked to support their claim, it was a dig at YG to prove a point. They cancelled the winners of mixnine debut because the show didn't do great, disregarding the promise they made to the contestants and not gaf about the time everyone involved wasted one the show. They are asking because they know YG wouldn't do that with this show since it's their own trainees; meaning YG Entertainment only cares about following through with contracts(and promises) when it's their own money on the line.

YG Entertainment is a dirty label, backstabbing partners. What happend to YGFAMILY? CL PARK BOM MINZY?

Share

bom got into a scandal and knetz didn't accept her apologies, YG gave her one last stage to see if she can comeback but the criticism is overwhelming later on she left YG, minzy knows that YG are not going to give 2ne1 or herself a chance when CL was going to release music in america so she left, CL not doing anything now wonder why she hasn't left, dara not doing anything not that she can go solo cause YG doesn't trust her, who to blame 2ne1's disbandment? YG and knetz but i don't see anyone blaming knetz cause people only know that YG disband them and now treating lee hi and CL like shit, su hyun was supposed to get new music but idk what happened but YG met with chanhyuk so maybe they discussed about his life and his sister's song

that's a burn sure but not relevant on the case the are talking about, the trial is about MIXNINE contract not about YG treasure box. YG treasure box is basically mix and match, WIN, and that survival show that made bigbang, every company does that evaluation but they probably don't show it to the world YG on the other hand probably want people to know the progress they made through the show, and for YGTB YG want people to vote on which trainee deserve to debut

I want to answer that question. No because they're already under YG, they don't have other companies. Then what would happen? Probably YG would give them a chance to debut but lock them in a basement if it fails (by fail I mean not achieving #1 on digital charts). Basically destroy the members' futures.

(PART 1) Okay before I go on about this, remember OPINIONS are always going to stay as OPINIONS. Facts are FACTS.

In the beginning of the show YG wanted to debut the winning team. In the end, why would he want to waste his own time and money on trainees who weren't even under his label? Wouldn't make sense right? Yeah he got money but he also has actual trainees he wants to debut himself (Treasure Box). During Happy Face's entertainment on Mixnine, the two representatives even CONFESSED how they can't provide and debut their boy trainees because they aren't financial STABLED. Now why would Happy Face want to sue YG? Obviously hoping to win and get that money. Let's not forget Mixnine is YG Entertainment's show, not any other companies. Which mean all the earnings, money that's been used for stages, music videos, and even CLOTHES for the non YG trainees is from YG. The other companies didn't put money into the trainees. Say that HF ent wanted to say they could've debutted Hyunsoo and Jinyoung instead of wasting their time on Mixnine, why mention that they COULDN'T debut them in the first place? Everything YG has done for those trainees is his money and wanted to see their potential. He wouldn't waste his time when he already has plans of debuting another boy group. In my opinion, I think it was great to have Mixnine because I got to know about all these groups that I've never was aware of or even seen, (ONF, Romeo, etc,.) I'm a huge fan of ONF and they're getting more recognized for their talents which I'm so happy for! Let's not forget that those trainees were also trained by YG's best vocal trainers, rap trainers, music producers, and best choreographers UNDER YG. YG PROVIDED for them. Allowed them to stay in the YG dorms. Them as trainees was a great opportunity for them to learn from one of the top agencies in Korea.

(PART 2) Also, there's only hate going towards YG, have we ever heard anything positive about him? No, because you guys are all so salty about one thing and can't think of the other perspective. In the end HF doesn't have the authority to tell YG to cancel Treasure Box when it's a YG survival show for his TRAINEES. Whether or not the show does bad or whatever, YG is still going to debut one team. I believe YG wanted to do the 3 year contract because it would be good expose and good experience for the trainees who were gonna debut as the winning team. They would've been able to tour around the WORLD. Something YG was wanting to do to benefit each trainee. But majority of the winning team opposed it because of MONEY. Not benefiting anything from YG's earnings. Why does someone deserve earnings that they didn't do anything to earn? With the three year contract, why ya'll so salty? Look at Wannaone, it feels like they've been together for nearly that same time but everyone loves them???? Why couldn't YG do that for those trainees he believed in???? YG has ALSO complimented so many trainees and would've WANTED them in his company other then the company they were in. Why? Probably because he saw the talent was going to go to waste. (As in smaller companies barely get recognized for their talents which is sad but it's the truth)

Share

0

jiyongsbitch 16 days ago 1

(PART 3) Happy face doesn't deserve getting $9,000 from YG when they're just salty that they couldn't agree on something that was going to benefit their trainees. Also if this was an issue, all the other companies would've sued YG but it's not a big enough problem because MANY of those unknown groups are more popular then before because of Mixnine's exposure. In the end, HF just wanted money that YG was going to be earning from debuting the winning team. Even though that's YG's money that he's going to be paying the YG producers to make a banger, a choreo, ETC. Ya'll, why can't ya'll see that it isn't only YG's fault. He did what he wanted to do. Don't be salty like Happy Face ent and end up becoming an laughing stock to the music industry because in the end YG is always going to be in the top three companies of Korea no matter how much ya'll hate him. But hey, have a wonderful day ya'll. Stay positive.

i'm also king kwon jiyong's bitch,, can we be friends? you said everything that i've been trying to tell people on instagram but i've been attacked for being a "yg stan" lol. also people tend to forget that yg entertainment is not run by a single person. i see this whole lawsuit as a waste of time and view happyface as plain stupid. yg entertainment provided EVERYTHING for almost TWO HUNDRED trainees, at the end of the day mixnine was YG and YG's only call. the company spent money on the show and are allowed to decide the outcome. not to mention that there wasn't a contract involved at the start of the show's early production stages.

Lets promote hate & negativity since mostly here thought they promoting good thing. Happy Face being fearless?! duh?! Mixnine was so long ago but they still want to keep pressing/ re-creating & cash in the public sympathy to promote their trainee/Artist. YES, Happy Face has a right to sue & complaint. And irresponsible of YG. But why ALL YG hate?! LET's BE true here. All the company that joined MixNine gain at least something positive already BUT YG didn't. Everyone benefit but YG all negative. Only stupid company will keep on spending money when the gain outweigh the money ALRDY lost. Do Happy Face deserve more after YG gaining more hate for MixNine & losing a lot financially/ negatively ?! ( Dont forget YG willingly spend or BET more on their trainee first than they did ). And to be honest any from YG trainee from YG treasure has more talent & (mostly) younger in the first place which (guessing) gave YG more reason to BET more on them.

So they should just sit back and allow YG to do whatever they want? They wasted the contestants time AND they played with the companies as well. They could have spend that time promoting them in other ways. Not only that but the money that they legally should've gotten through the show has not come through! When you promise people something and write contracts you should follow through with it, that's a principle that everyone should up hold.

lol "savage" not really its 2 different situation. treasure box is about YGE plying with their OWN toys. mixnine involved sharing toys for a certain amount of time the companies did not agree. YGE WAS going to debut them for a total of 3 yrs and other companies disagreed PARTICULARLY HAPPYFACE.... so now happyface is suing so they GET MORE MONEY to debut their group bcz they arent making jack with dreamcatcher as they just started out.

i think at least some programs like the new "Under 19" they clearly lay down the rules and contract conditions for the winning team (which is 17 months of which, 5 months is trainee period and 12 months of promotion period), so its clear to everyone whats in store and why they work so hard to win.

i think if PROVIDING A DEBUT was not a MUST FILL duty, then i am wondering what was the GOAL of MIX NINE is the first place.

Did he merely start the show to show ppl how he go around to various agencies to scout for talent and diss the trainees on their failures, and then diss some agencies on how bad the building is/was, then say debutting the wining team was an option and not a MUST have.

then its like saying YOU GUYS should be HONORED just by being on MY SHOW and Training in YG, and i dun promise you of debut in the first place.

i think its rather Happyface who withdrew their trainess because the show had low ratings, rather than YG. i know there are a lot more to the story, but this is just what i think.

This show isnt produce101 where the real reward is the fame you get from the show, then you debut in a group under a shitty company who only can give them low shit tier budget songs.

In Mix nine the real reward would not the fame you get from the survival, but being able to debut under a company which has the best producers, best stylists and a company which is by far the best at showcasing the idols true talent.

I totally understand that YG broke its promise but keep in mind that it’s also a lot of money to loose for YG especially when they don’t feel like a group is worth debuting. At the end they are the income for the company and represetives of the company itself. I am not defending YG but I also understand their position.

I also heard that they invest over 100.000 per trainee in treasure box and the money needs to be earned back.

Just my two cents.

Mixnine was last year, at this point Happy Face just lost money on a wast of trial. They risk to lost big for pretty nothing at this point, better look for their artists than wasting their time for nothing... Beside, the question is irrevelant, YG Treasure Box is for YG trainees, they don't have any business in this, and YG can make whatever they want with their own trainees, it's between the company and their contracted if there is a problem... At this point Happy Face just want some attention...
