' new comeback be a retro concept?
From BTS' backstage videos to their recent fancafe post, contents leading up to the group's comeback are inspiring fans to decipher their new concept.
In a previous MAMA backstage video, Jin and Jungkook bantered about getting ready for next year's MAMA stage much in advance. When Jungkook kidded Jin to give a little spoiler, the idol responded with an old-school dance move and said, "retro concept". Then, Jungkook played along and downright confessed that their MAMA stage for 2018 will be retro!
Fast forward, some clues from BTS' stage at '2018 Lotte Duty Free Family Concert' stimulated fans to surmise that the group might release a vinyl for their comeback. The background video from the stage included codes such as 'LP' and '33 1/3 rpm', all terms relating back to vinyl records. Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, ARMY have been gathering circular symbols reminiscent of a vinyl from many other BTS-related contents as well.
Most recently, one ARMY took to Twitter to share an information from BTS' official fan cafe post, saying that Rap Monster used certain emojis for a post entitled "new song". The emojis consist of two blowfish and two whales, which translate to 'bok-uh' (blowfish) and 'go-rae' (whale). Taking the first syllable from each word, the pronunciation becomes 'bok-go', which in Korean means 'retro'.
It seems that more attempts at deciphering the concept for BTS new comeback are underway from ARMY! The official drop of their repackage album 'Love Yourself: Answer' is on August 24, so stay tuned for updates!
