However, several international fans criticized the idol for cultural appropriation. In response to the criticism, BamBam shared his bold thoughts via Twitter and stated, "Okay... so idol not allow [sic] to become a movie fan?" And added, "Disappointed.."

Fans agreed with BamBam and commented, "Don't mind the haters", "Of course you can like a movie. You just be you", "Stop bashing him for liking a movie."
