This isn't the first time MAMAMOO created controversy with sexual assault themes in their MVs.  Back when they released "Um Oh Ah Yeh," a few voiced disapproval at some moments, like when Solar tries to kiss an unconscious Moon Byul in the hospital and when Hwa Sa tries to force herself onto Solar in the plane scene.

However, this time, the group seems to have gone too far in "Décalcomanie" with an elevator scene in which the man forces a kiss on Solar who resists it at first then succumbs to it.  He holds back her hands, ignoring her resistance.  Fans voiced their anger at the inappropriateness of this scene which seems to be romanticizing sexual assault, so MAMAMOO took down the MV and replaced it with the problematic scene removed.

Also, during the press conference on this day, Solar talked about the kiss scene with, "I tried a kiss scene in the MV this time.  I didn't actually do it, but pretended.  I was so embarrassed and abashed at it, I was going crazy.  I wanted to hide."

Regarding her 'husband' Eric Nam's response, she said, "I have to do it because it's my work, isn't it?  I think he'd be able to understand once he sees my bank book."

You can see the problematic clip below.  What did you make of it?

I'm happy they deleted that scene :)

First why include a foreign dude 🙄

k_kid Knigin Tuesday, November 8, 2016

Why does that bother people to have a foreign person in a music video? If they don't put foreigners then they're not global or open minded enough, if they do then they're trying to be too Westernized. You just can't please everyone.

... are you serious? if a western artist featured a korean actor in their mv and ppl complained about it, would you be pleased with that? where are you from, 1950?

Nutelladela Tuesday, November 8, 2016

idk man, if the guy wasn't hot how would y'all feel about someone slamming you up against an elevator wall and forcing a kiss on you as you're struggling? In the MV they do show Solar giving in because she thinks he's hot, but all that does is give the message that "if you think she wants you just force it on her until she gives in." Not ok. Y'all say people need to grow up for wanting the scene removed but maybe you need to grow up if you think that scene was ok.

bobbatea Monday, November 7, 2016

people need to grow tf up honestly.

oxymorac Monday, November 7, 2016

*whispers* maybe it won't be this big an issue if it was one of the members 'kissing' Solar

loh Monday, November 7, 2016

K-netz can't handle anything.

pinkylovesfood loh Monday, November 7, 2016

It wasnt just k-netz, many foreign fans also were complaiing about it on youtube, and in this case, it's a fair thing to complain about

loh pinkylovesfood Monday, November 7, 2016

anyone complaining are legit overreacting

k_kid loh Monday, November 7, 2016

If you go on Youtube, A LOT of the negative comments were from non-Koreans.

kinnin Monday, November 7, 2016

,or a "foreign girl" for that matter...

kinnin Monday, November 7, 2016

why do Koreans feel the need to have a foreign guy?  it doesn't make your video more "global"...

loh kinnin Monday, November 7, 2016

and more specifically a foreign white guy. -_-

k_kid loh Monday, November 7, 2016

Would you rather want a black guy and then have more of a controversy with people saying that Korea is portraying black people as rapists?

loh k_kid Tuesday, November 8, 2016

what...i wasn't even talking about that specific scene... and that would just show how messed up people are

k_kid loh Tuesday, November 8, 2016

Well, it's not Koreans in this case then. Look at Chinese music videos, they always have white foreigners as well. Tao almost always has foreigners in his MV and I'm sure he's not the only one artist to do so.

It did surprise me and seemed out of place. So I'm glad it was removed.
