Sounds smilar to their other songs with the guitar but I guess it's their trademark sound?

Ugghh another cute concept. When are girl groups going to start being original.

Hmm, while the concept is different, from the teasers, the song style or layout of the song and the choreo seems to be similar to their previous songs. GFriend looks to be on its path to be one of the top girl groups in the future, but I feel that to be one of Korea's top, most of the groups that have been in top don't just stay with just one concept, but have different sounding songs and concepts and choreo. I really hope GFriend impresses me with a new sound and amazingness :)

Variable Cherry_Peche Thursday, July 7, 2016

I agree with what you said about needing to get to the top, but I actually think this song sounds pretty different from their past stuff. It's still upbeat, which is the same, but it's more in your face and less innocent and soft. At least in my opinion. I do hope they bring something a little more unique to the choreography, because they can't simply rely on difficult choreography forever. It also has to be interesting.

Hmm, I was thinking more it the layout/distribution of the song is the same, or the dynamics. For example, they do a dance break in the beginning and middle of the song, or Yuju does two high notes, then back to the chorus, etc...

Well, if you look at most of the top groups. The layout/distribution of their songs tends to stay the same or similar to their top hits. Some examples: SNSD, their basic format of their songs have been the same since Gee, with the exception of maybe IGAB, The Boys, and CMIYC. Wonder Girls have had a similar distribution ever since Tell Me. Sunmi/Lim would sing first verse, Sohee second, Sunye and Ye eun would split chorus, then Sunmi/Lim and Sohee would sing the second verses after first chorus, then Ye eun and Sunye would split chorus, Ye eun and/or Sunye would sing bridge, and then Yubin would rap. (Their layout distribution has changed a bit, since they're only 4 now, with no Sohee or Sunye). Sistar's has been pretty consistent, too, Hyorin usually opens the song, she, and Soyu have multiple verses, Daso m 1 or 2, Bora a rap, and Hyorin and Soyu usually split the chorus. A top group usually has slight variations in sound, and off course not every single song they release fit the same dynamics, but they tend to do it a lot. Because it's what works, and it's what's expected. I gave examples of three groups, but most groups tend to have a layout/distribution set-up for their songs. So, that doesn't mean GFRIEND won't be able to rise to the top. They're already pretty popular, as long as they don't push the boundaries, or stick exclusively to the same sound, too much. It's got to be an equalibriam of push and but not too much push, for any group to "rise" to the top. Unless they started from the beginning as a group that constantly changed and pushed boundaries(I.E. 2ne1 and 4Minute). So, yeah. (This is coming from someone who's been a kpop fan, and following Kpop, and noting trends in Kpop, for 6 hope it makes sense? And that I didn't ramble too much?)
