Why does Minzy's mom tell her she is steamed kimchi?

2NE1's Minzy and her mother will be returning to your television on September 15, which is when their second appearance on KBS 2TV's 'Happy Sunday - Mama Mia' will hit the television waves.

On this upcoming episode, Minzy's mother reveals why she calls her daughter 'steamed kimchi.' �Despite the strange phrase, there is a very sweet backstory that might even make you want to be called steamed kimchi, as well.

Minzy said, "When I was in the 6th grade, I entered YG Entertainment. �The president said it would take only two years (until I debut). �Three years passed and even four years passed, but he still did not let me debut. �Out of all the 2NE1 members, I had the longest training period."

Her mother continued from there, "I always told her, 'Think of yourself as steamed kimchi,' because with steamed kimchi, you can make so many different dishes."

There is no doubt that the two are very close. �With her mother cheering her on and lovingly calling her steamed kimchi, Minzy was finally able to debut and succeed.
