KBS' 'Shutup Family' will now be known simply as 'Family'.
The agency behind the sitcom, Kairos Enterprise, announced on the 7th, "The sitcom 'Shutup Family' has changed its title to 'Family'. Though the title is different, you'll still continue to support the series, right? From now on, we'll be using 'Family' and reading it [in a shortened form] as well."
The series has been under fire for its original name since the first episode was broadcast this past August. Many viewers complained about a public program using inappropriate language in its title.
In September of this year, one viewer in particular filed for a hearing to ban the title, and the next month, the Broadcast Communication Review Committee recommended a name change citing it as an "impediment to public dignity."
The producers commented, "We'll be making a new [start] with this title change."
