aespa's Karina reveals her secrets to losing weight

Weight management is a significant aspect of the K-pop industry, where idols strive to maintain their captivating visuals. Diet plans and weight loss secrets have become highly discussed topics within the industry, given their importance in achieving the desired image of an idol.

Recently, aespa's Karina revealed her secrets to losing weight and garnered much attention.


Karina appeared on the latest episode of 'No Prepare,' and spent quality time with Lee Young Ji. They talked about various topics, one of them being weight loss.

Lee Young Ji had also garnered much attention for shedding immense weight in the past.

During the show, Karina revealed that she strictly maintains her weight despite eating a lot. Karina confessed that she can eat a whole container of Pringles and once ate a whole pie of Pizza by herself.

However, Karina shared she loses weight by exercising vigorously once she goes over a certain weight. She explained, "I wear a padded jacket, I wear a tight t-shirt, I wear a sweatsuit, and run for 4 hoursI listen to idol music." She continued to share, "I run and dance. I run while saying 'Yoo Jimin you're so cool' and run around."


Lee Young Ji tried to clarify, "People could say she's pretending to eat a lot. But not at all. She's been eating this fish cake soup a lot. She almost finished it. She's eating so much. I think you eat a lot but you don't easily gain weight after."

Karina refuted, "Not at all, I gain weight easily. I've gained 4 kg (8.8 lbs) and lost 4 kg in a day." Lee Young Ji concluded that Karina is able to maintain the weight despite eating a lot because she puts in an immense effort and moves around to keep off the weight.

That’s water weight and nothing else, it’s physically impossible for a human to lose and gain 8 pounds of actual body mass in a day.
