Actress Song Ha Yoon has officially responded to longstanding school bullying allegations through her legal representative.

On July 2, Song Ha Yoon’s legal team at Lawfirm Ji Eum issued an official response to bullying allegations from over 20 years ago that surfaced last year. Song has consistently denied the accusations but faced challenges proving her innocence initially. She has now filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Oh, the originator of the claims, citing defamation and obstruction of business.

Despite police investigations and a wanted notice issued against Ms. Oh, who currently resides in the United States and avoids cooperating, Song’s team is pursuing further legal action, including in the U.S.

The statement emphasized that Song never committed any violence or was forcibly transferred due to bullying. This is supported by official records and witness testimonies, including from former classmates and her homeroom teacher. The allegations have caused Song significant emotional and reputational harm, which she hopes to overcome by allowing the investigation to proceed objectively.

Song expressed gratitude to her supporters, apologized for the concerns caused, and announced plans for a fresh start after ending her contract with her previous agency. She hopes to return with a renewed attitude and requests continued support for her future. Song Ha Yoon had suspended her activities in April last year following the emergence of the bullying allegations.

Song Ha Yoon’s legal representative Ji Eum Law Firm released an official statement as below:

"Hello, this is Lawfirm Ji Eum, legal representative of actress Song Ha Yoon.

Regarding the school violence allegations raised last year in connection with actress Song Ha Yoon, the actress has consistently stated from the outset that the claims are not true. However, proving that something did not occur is inherently difficult, and as such, she was unable to respond as actively at the time.

Since then, Song Ha Yoon has made ongoing efforts to gather evidence to disprove the claims made by the original accuser, identified as Ms. Oh. As a result, she has independently collected significant evidence and has officially filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Oh.

On behalf of the actress, our firm would like to share the recent actions taken by Song Ha Yoon, the current progress of the investigation, and her official stance on this matter. In addition, we wish to inform the public about recent personal developments and her future plans.

For more detailed information, please refer to the following statement. Thank you.

Actress Song Ha Yoon has filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Oh, the original source of the school violence rumors, for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, and for obstruction of business by fraudulent means.

The police deemed it necessary to investigate the alleged defamation and attempted to move forward with the case. However, Ms. Oh, who is currently residing in the United States and claiming U.S. citizenship, has repeatedly refused to cooperate with the investigation. Despite her claims, the police, through official channels including the Ministry of Justice, have confirmed that Ms. Oh still holds South Korean nationality and proceeded accordingly. Nevertheless, Ms. Oh has continued to refuse to enter Korea and participate in the investigation.

In May, due to Ms. Oh’s failure to comply with the police’s request for attendance without a valid reason, the authorities issued a "wanted notification" and registered her on the police's wanted list system. If Ms. Oh enters Korea, the National Police Agency will be immediately notified and the investigation will resume without delay.

Song Ha Yoon is currently reviewing potential legal measures that can be pursued within the United States. Together with our firm, she is also preparing to pursue both civil and criminal action against third parties who assisted in spreading false information.

Song Ha Yoon did not engage in any violent behavior toward Ms. Oh during her high school years, nor was she ever subject to forced transfer due to school violence. Official public records, notarized statements, and other supporting documents disproving the allegations have already been submitted to the investigative authorities.

Furthermore, a high school classmate who Ms. Oh identified as a witness to the alleged violence has confirmed that no such incident was ever witnessed. This individual made it clear to Ms. Oh that they had no recollection of witnessing any such event, yet Ms. Oh proceeded to misrepresent this person as a witness and submitted this false narrative to media outlets. Song Ha Yoon has also contacted her former homeroom teacher, who confirmed that there was never any record or mention of forced transfer related to school violence. Several classmates have also come forward to state that Song Ha Yoon was never the type of person to harm others, emphasizing that if anything, she was more likely to have been the one harmed.

As a result of this unlawful conduct, which severely damaged the reputation she built over 22 years, Song Ha Yoon has suffered significant harm and extreme emotional distress.

She believed it was most appropriate to wait for the truth to be revealed through objective investigation rather than making premature public comments. We kindly ask for your understanding regarding the time it took to issue this statement.

Song Ha Yoon offers her deepest apologies to those who have supported her and expresses sincere regret for the concern caused.

With her contract with her previous agency now expired, she is preparing to return to the public with a renewed mindset in a new environment. She will continue striving to meet the public with greater humility and maturity.

We kindly ask for your continued interest and warm support for Song Ha Yoon’s future activities. Thank you.
