ILLIT is back with a daring new look.
On June 13, ILLIT released the first music video teaser for their third mini album’s title track, ‘Do the Dance’, through HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel.
In the teaser, all five members appear with short bob hairstyles — a bold styling move never seen since their debut. Dressed in school uniforms, the girls ride together on a single bicycle, creating a dreamy yet nostalgic mood. The teaser ends with a sudden stop to avoid a cat crossing their path, adding a touch of whimsy.
The snippet of ‘Do the Dance’ heard in the teaser starts off with a soft, romantic vibe before shifting into an upbeat tempo, hinting at an emotional twist in the song.
‘Do the Dance’ is a French house-inspired track that captures the fluttering excitement and clumsy charm of a first date. Even after making an awkward mistake and feeling like a “borrowed cat” — a Korean idiom for someone timid and out of place — the girls boldly express their feelings by asking, “Do the dance with me.”
ILLIT will unveil the second teaser for ‘Do the Dance’ on June 15. The full album ‘Bum’ is set for release on June 16 at 6 p.m. KST.
The group will also perform outdoors at the ‘Friends Night Picnic’ on June 17 at Seoul’s Sebitseom. The event will feature ILLIT’s live performance as well as various booths for fans to enjoy a laid-back evening picnic atmosphere.
