A person's thoughtless action on dealing with street kittens has become a topic of heated debate among netizens.

The said person had written a post online this past April 25, sharing the story of how she had discovered newborn kittens with their eyes barely open and decided to bring them home.

Under a post titled 'Street kitties with their eyes barely open,' the person shared a photo of two kittens in a box and wrote, "I'll put my all into raising [these kittens]."

Around an hour later, the person uploaded another post, writing, "I've returned one kitten. When I returned it and stood watching at a distance, [I saw the mama cat] take it back."

Apparently, several netizens found fault with this person's action in taking the kittens away from their mother.

Some people commented, "It's kidnapping when the kittens have a mother," and, "Cats and other wild animals don't accept the babies that smell like humans. What are you going to do about that one kitten you returned," while others argued, "It's better [for the kittens] to be brought home rather than be raised on the dangerous streets," and, "Isn't it also stealing from the mother when we adopt pets?"

What is your stance on this issue?

Why is this a debate..? And it's also a misconception that mothers won't take back their babies if they smell like a human. (Like really? Animal moms are better than human moms. They don't intentionally abandon their young. So. Now what?) Anyway~ Any smart person would take in the whole feline family. ^^

:c animals have emotions too and feel sadness being separated from their parents....and the parent is going to search for its kittens forever if they suddenly disappear and will never find them :/ this person is kind of treating the whole thing as a joke or a game. Pets aren't accessories :/ If you see a baby animal and suspect it's been abandoned by its parents, bring it food and watch it for a few hours over the span of a few days to make sure it doesn't have a parent. Just because they're animals doesn't mean we can be careless. We can't just take whatever cute thing we see on the street and claim it.

You bring the mother and the kittens if you want them. It's not healthy to take them that young and really, who are you to steal them from there mother. If you love cats and want the kittens you need to care for the mother, too.

This is not news. People always take kittens from the street. Most people don't mind street kittens though. This will be news if the person who took the kittens from the streets kills 'em and posted it online. NOW THAT'S NEWS AARRGGHHH!!!

might as well take in the mother too?

Kittens require a lot of work at that age. Not to mention if you don't stimulate their digestive system things go very wrong. Though that one comment is wrong. Animals will accept back animals that smell like humans. It has been proven time again that they will. What usually what happens is humans usually scare off the parents thus creating the illusion of denying.

Girl has no clue what she's doing. They're far too young to be taken from their mother. But if you must then you need to take them to the vets so they can be nursed from a bottle. Kittens that young will need fed every 2 hours. She's doing more harm than good.

I think the kittens were too young to leave their mother. My cat was a stray at 6 weeks old, she was skittish and skinny and took me some time to toilet train her and give her solid food that she should of been getting from the mother. They also need to stay with the mother to learn vital hunting skills they will need as an adult cat. Sometimes it's best not to interfere with mother nature. I understand what the person was trying to do but they should have left them alone.
