He continued to write, "I, too, have been confused and taken aback by facts I only came to learn recently. I am sorry that I was unable to organize my position more quickly or clarify how I intend to move forward as soon as possible."
He expressed his remorse and apologized, "Regarding this matter, I will faithfully do everything that I am able to do. I will take this time to once again reflect on myself and my surroundings. Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies."
Meanwhile, SM Entertainment released an official statement regarding allegations of illegal medical practices involving Lee, who has been referred to as the “injection aunt,” and reports of Key’s personal connection to him. Along with the apology, the label explained that Key will be stepping down from all his scheduled activities, including his role as the MC for the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards.
Below is the full statement from Key:
"Hello, this is Key.
I sincerely apologize for causing concern to so many people due to the various stories circulating about me recently.
I, too, have been confused and taken aback by facts I only came to learn recently. I am sorry that I was unable to organize my position more quickly or clarify how I intend to move forward as soon as possible.
I had believed I could keep myself far removed from matters like this, but that confidence may have prevented me from looking more carefully at my surroundings. I feel deeply sorry and ashamed toward everyone who has trusted me and supported me.
Regarding this matter, I will faithfully do everything that I am able to do. I will take this time to once again reflect on myself and my surroundings.
Once again, I offer my sincerest apologies."
