It hasn’t even premiered yet, and it’s already No. 1. Not just any No. 1, either. It has surged to the top with nearly double the gap over second place.

Set to return after three years, Netflix’s R-rated action series 'Bloodhounds' Season 2 is already creating an explosive buzz ahead of its release. While expectations were naturally high following the global success of its first season, this time the numbers are speaking even before viewers have seen a single episode.

According to Consumer Insight’s “3rd Week of March 2026 OTT K-Original Content Viewer Evaluation Report,” released on March 19, Bloodhounds Season 2 ranked No. 1 among upcoming titles. It recorded a 21% viewing intention rate, more than double that of the No. 2 title, Genie TV’s drama Climax, which scored 10%. Considering that these figures reflect audience interest before release, it suggests that public attention is already heavily concentrated on a single title.

The highly anticipated series, set to premiere on April 3, follows Geon Woo (Portrayed by Woo Do Hwan) and Woo Jin (played by Lee Sang Yi), who once took down a ruthless illegal loan shark ring. In Season 2, they are thrown into another life-or-death battle - this time against a global underground boxing league ruled by money and violence. While Season 1 made a strong impression with its raw, hard-hitting action, the new season raises the stakes significantly, unfolding against the backdrop of a massive illegal gambling operation worth trillions of KRW, with far more brutal and organized enemies.

The newly released main poster and trailer instantly reveal why anticipation is so high. Geon Woo, Woo Jin, and the new villain Baek Jeong (Played by Jung Ji Hoon) are locked in an intense confrontation, setting up a suffocating showdown. The tagline, “An illegal gambling ring worth trillions—we’ll tear it apart to the end,” encapsulates the brutal tone of the season. The trailer teases fast, heavy punches, intensified chases, and relentless pacing, signaling the return of 'Bloodhounds’ signature no-holds-barred action.

The biggest wildcard this season is undoubtedly Jung Ji Hoon’s villain, Baek Jeong. As the mastermind behind the global illegal boxing league, he offers Geon Woo, now a champion, a dangerous deal: “I’ll give you 10 billion KRW. Just fight me once.” When Geon Woo refuses, Baek Jeong turns his sights on him, Woo Jin, and everyone they care about. More than just a powerful adversary, he is a calculating force who orchestrates the game and drives his opponents into corners, making him far more threatening than previous villains.

Character dynamics have also grown stronger. Returning allies, including Min Beom (Choi Si Won), Kang Yong (Choi Young Joon), Gwang Moo (Park Hoon), So Yeon (Yoon Yoo Sun), Tae Young (Park Ye Ni), and Woo Jung (Cha Ji Hyuk), further solidify the “Geon Woo family.” On the opposing side, Baek Jeong is joined by Tae Geom (Hwang Chan Sung), Man Bae (Lee Si Eon), and hacker Allen (Lee Myung Ro), forming a tightly coordinated force. With the conflict expanding from individual clashes to full team-versus-team warfare, the new season promises not only heightened action but also deeper tensions involving loyalty, betrayal, and survival.

Jung Ji Hoon’s dramatic transformation has also drawn early attention. In recently released character stills, he appears drenched in blood, wearing a chilling smile, an image powerful enough to leave a lasting impression. Director Kim Joo Hwan described the shift, saying, “If the villain in Season 1 was a wolf, Baek Jeong in Season 2 is a ferocious and deadly giant tiger.” As described, Baek Jeong appears poised to anchor the season’s tension and fear.

Above all, the intense anticipation surrounding Season 2 is rooted in the global success of its predecessor. Upon its release in 2023, Season 1 topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV category and recorded approximately 28 million viewing hours in its first week alone. It entered the Top 10 in over 80 countries, including Korea, proving the global appeal of K-action content.

This makes the pre-release No. 1 ranking far from a coincidence. A series that already succeeded worldwide has returned with a bigger scale, a more brutal villain, and deeper character relationships.

Still, topping the charts before release may be just the beginning. All eyes are now on whether 'Bloodhounds' Season 2 can once again deliver a powerful global hit when it premieres on April 3.
