Actor Jung Kyung Ho has chosen the drama 'Unwavering Romance' as his next project.
On March 4, his agency, Management Allum, confirmed, “Jung Kyung Ho has finalized his next project. He will indeed star in Unwavering Romance.”
'Unwavering Romance' is a newsroom-set romance drama that tells the story of a seemingly unshakable man and woman in their forties who unexpectedly find themselves captivated by each other.
Jung Kyung Ho will take on the role of Na Yi Jun, the star anchor of a news division. Raised in an ordinary middle-class family, Na Yi Jun achieved a perfect score on the national college entrance exam and became the youngest anchor in the network’s history. However, at 40, he begins to suffer from early-onset menopause symptoms, causing his self-esteem to plummet.
As the story unfolds, Na Yi Jun crosses paths with a longtime rival - a scrappy, unconventional writer - and attempts to revive a last-place-rated program. In the process, the two end up reigniting each other’s dormant “romance cells,” setting the stage for a mature love story.
The drama is already generating buzz, as Jung Kyung Ho has built a reputation as a “trusted actor” through a string of hit projects, including Hospital Playlist, Crash Course in Romance, Labor Attorney Noh Moo Jin, and Pro Bono.
'Unwavering Romance' will be directed by Lee Chang Min. The broadcast schedule has yet to be announced.
Jung Kyung Ho debuted in 2003 as part of the 20th open recruitment class for talents at KBS. He has been in a public relationship with Choi Soo Young, a member of Girls' Generation, since 2012, after the two met at a church gathering. In January 2014, paparazzi photos of the couple on a date were released, and they subsequently confirmed their relationship. Since going public, the pair have openly expressed their affection, enjoying dates both in Korea and abroad, and mentioning each other freely on broadcast.
