BTS successfully wrapped up a landmark comeback live performance at Gwanghwamun Square, marking a powerful return to the stage.

On March 21 at 8 PM, 'BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG' took place at Gwanghwamun Square to celebrate the release of the group’s fifth full-length album 'ARIRANG.' The event featured the first-ever performances of new tracks, including the title song “SWIM.”

Approximately 22,000 fans filled the official audience area, while tens of thousands more gathered around the square to witness the historic moment. The concert was also streamed live worldwide via Netflix, allowing global fans to join the celebration in real time.

The seven members of BTS appeared on stage against the iconic backdrop of Gwanghwamun, dressed in striking black-and-white outfits. Opening the show, RM greeted the audience with, “Hello. We are back.”

The group kicked off with “Body to Body,” delivering a powerful and energetic performance. Due to an ankle injury sustained earlier, RM remained seated or stood apart during choreography, while the other six members carried out the full dance. The highlight 'ARIRANG' segment was enhanced by professional vocalists, elevating the performance’s grandeur.

They continued with “Hooligan” and “2.0,” showcasing strong live vocals and commanding stage presence. Fans responded with enthusiastic cheers, waving their light sticks throughout the performances.

BTS then performed their global hit “Butter,” bringing a bright and playful atmosphere to the stage. Even RM briefly stood to join in lighthearted gestures despite his injury. The energy intensified with “MIC Drop,” as the group delivered a fierce and explosive performance that captivated both the live audience and viewers worldwide.

Following the new song stages, V shared, “It still doesn’t feel real that we’re back together as a group.”

Jungkook added, “I don’t think I will ever forget tonight. I felt pressure and fear about the comeback, but standing here with you just feels amazing.” RM reflected on the creative process. “We spent a long time thinking about what kind of music to make. The answer was not outside. It was within us.”

SUGA emphasized, “With this album, we wanted to honestly show who we are as seven members and present a more mature BTS.” The group also performed new tracks like “Aliens” and “FYA,” highlighting their signature hip-hop energy and synchronized choreography with large groups of dancers.

Jin expressed gratitude, recalling their last full-group performance years ago and thanking fans for waiting. SUGA described performing at Gwanghwamun, one of Korea’s most historic locations, as a true honor. He explained that the album title 'ARIRANG' reflects their cultural identity.

j-hope said, “It feels surreal to be here as seven again,” while Jimin thanked fans and hinted at upcoming concert plans.

The highlight of the night came with the title track “SWIM.” As the performance began, Gwanghwamun Square was bathed in blue light, matching the song’s fluid, pop-inspired mood. The choreography emphasized smooth, wave-like movements, creating a visually immersive experience.

The group continued with “Like Animals” and “Normal,” interacting closely with fans across the stage. They closed the show with their mega-hits “Dynamite” and “Mikrokosmos,” ending on an emotional and celebratory note.

BTS released their fifth studio album 'ARIRANG' on March 20, marking their first album in three years and nine months since Proof in 2022. The album explores both the group’s identity and universal emotions, quickly rising on music charts.

Notably, this event marked the first time a single artist held a solo concert at Gwanghwamun Square. It was also Netflix’s first global live music broadcast from Korea, directed by renowned live production expert Hamish Hamilton.

Closing the night, J-Hope declared, BTS 2.0 has just begun.” RM added, “No matter what happens, we promise to keep swimming together. This is only the beginning.”
