Bestselling author and social media influencer 'A' has come under scrutiny for repeated plagiarism allegations.
On March 3, NoCut News reported on the controversy surrounding 'A,' who is accused of copying other users’ posts on social media and presenting them as his own. Over the years, 'A' has produced a variety of content on topics such as earning income through writing and has even achieved bestseller status with books he authored himself.
However, recent suspicions have emerged that some of A’s short posts closely resemble the writings of others. On A’s personal account, comments have appeared comparing his posts to the original works, suggesting that he may have copied them.
Claims have also arisen that 'A' has posted quotes or short phrases without attribution, presenting them as his own. Notably, the title of his most recently published essay collection is allegedly identical to that of another author’s work. Netizens argue that phrases and excerpts in A’s books were also presented as his own without proper citation.
On January 31, 'A' issued an apology regarding the similarities between his social media posts and others’ writings, stating, “I deeply apologize for the points that may have felt similar to another person’s writing. I take full responsibility for this. I will also extend a personal apology to the author of the original work. Social media brings me great joy, and in posting, I failed to fully check for similarities with previous writings. This was entirely my oversight.”
Regarding allegations of plagiarism in his essay title and lack of citation, 'A' added on February 1, “As a creator, I failed to uphold the fundamental principles I should have respected. I will conduct a complete review of all past posts, including those currently under discussion. Any post lacking proper citations or references will be corrected immediately.” He also stated his intention to personally apologize to those affected.
He further announced, “With a sincere heart of apology, I will donate a portion of the income generated from my activities to public causes related to the protection of creators’ rights.”
Despite the apology, some social media users claim that A even reposted their works as images, ignoring requests to remove or correct them. Another user stated that when questioning whether A copied their writing, they were ignored.
One user commented, “I thought this account just shared posts that looked good,” resonating with many others.
Shocked by the repeated plagiarism allegations, social media users have expressed anger, calling A’s actions “fraud” and indicating intentions to contact publishers. As a result, past plagiarism controversies involving A that had appeared on other accounts have also been re-examined.
