Celebrating its 30th anniversary, YG Entertainment has officially confirmed a BIGBANG global tour, unveiling a large scale company wide project.
On March 4th KST, YG Executive Producer Yang Hyun Suk appeared on the company’s official YouTube channel to reveal the ‘2026 YG PLAN.’ He sequentially announced plans for BIGBANG’s 20th debut anniversary global tour, along with roadmaps for BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, and upcoming rookie groups.
It is considered unusual for YG to present the schedules of its major artists in a single video, and industry observers interpret this as the company outlining a comprehensive “big picture” strategy.
Yang stated, “To commemorate the 20th anniversary this year, we have agreed to hold BIGBANG performances and will begin a global tour.” Previously, BIGBANG’s participation in Coachella 2026 had been confirmed, and G-Dragon also hinted at a full group reunion during a fan meeting in February.
Analysts suggest that this announcement is backed by the successful return of BLACKPINK. On the 27th of last month, BLACKPINK released their third mini album ‘DEADLINE,’ selling 1.46 million copies on its first day. With BLACKPINK having just concluded a global stadium tour, BIGBANG’s world tour is expected to take over the momentum, forming what many describe as a “legend relay” strategy. Given that both groups represent top tier global intellectual property, strong international performance is anticipated.
Yang also provided detailed plans for YG’s current lineup. BABYMONSTER will release the mini album ‘CHOOM’ in early May, followed by a full length album in October. Starting in June, they plan to launch a second world tour spanning North America, South America, Europe and Oceania.
TREASURE is set to undergo a bold transformation. At the members’ request, the group will shift toward a hip hop concept, releasing a mini album in June and announcing a world tour scheduled for early next year.
Additionally, YG plans to debut a new boy group this fall. The remaining members of the girl group tentatively titled "NEXT MONSTER" are also expected to be revealed soon, outlining the next generation of YG’s girl group lineup following BABYMONSTER.
YG’s 2026 strategy appears to build on BLACKPINK’s global success, deploy the legendary asset of BIGBANG, and then connect the momentum to BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, and rookie acts in a tightly structured generational relay.
With the symbolic weight of YG’s 30th anniversary and the strength of its flagship intellectual properties converging, 2026 is widely expected to be one of the company’s most aggressive and ambitious years yet.
