Solar successfully established a strong presence in Taiwan throughout 2025, carrying out diverse activities ranging from single releases to brand modeling, ambassadorships, and festival performances, capturing the attention of the Greater China market.
On June 11th, 2025, Solar released the Chinese language single ‘Floating Free’ in collaboration with Taiwanese singer 9m88. The track achieved notable success upon release, topping Taiwan’s iTunes chart and ranking No. 5 on KKBOX. In addition to her music promotions, Solar actively participated in brand campaigns, major Taiwanese festivals, and year end special stages, further solidifying her influence in the local mainstream market.
Industry insiders commented, “This goes beyond a simple visit by a Korean top star. It represents a successful example of international collaboration and cultural fusion through a localized strategy,” adding that the model of generating buzz through music releases and extending that momentum into commercial partnerships and offline performances proved highly effective.
Solar’s successful activities in Taiwan were driven through collaboration with Seed Music, a subsidiary of Catwalk Entertainment, a company that has long held a strong position in Taiwan’s fashion and entertainment industries. Catwalk has recently strengthened its integrated entertainment business model by combining artist, model, and influencer management with music production, distribution, and artist development systems.
Seed Music and Taiwan Dream Institute (TDI), both under Catwalk, focus on music production, planning, artist training, and performance development while targeting the global market. With operational bases in Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, and Singapore, Catwalk continues to expand across Asia, leveraging its network to quickly assess regional market conditions and organically connect resources.
As Taiwanese artists increasingly expand into the Korean market, Catwalk’s strategic direction has drawn further attention. Actor Hsu Kuang Han built strong recognition through collaborations with Korean content. Meanwhile, Regina Lei, also under Catwalk, was cast in the Disney+ original series ‘Twelve,’ starring alongside Korean top actors including Ma Dong Suk and Park Hyung Sik, successfully entering Korea’s production system.
A representative from Catwalk Group stated, “As collaboration models between the Korean and Greater China entertainment industries diversify, the role of platforms with deep local market understanding and integrated resources has become more important than ever.” They added, “We will continue to pursue successful cross border collaborations like the ‘Solar model’ to strengthen global competitiveness within the Asian entertainment market.”
